WelcomeThe specialized Master program Master of Science UZH ETH in Quantitative Finance, in short MSc UZH ETH in Quantitative Finance (or before 2009: Master of Advanced Studies in Finance) is a joint degree program offered by the University of Zurich, represented by the Department of Banking and Finance, together with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), represented by the Department of Mathematics. The program is the core of the Center of Competence Finance in Zurich.
The program (entirely taught in English) offers its prospective students an advanced education in quantitative finance. A special feature is its combination of economic theory for finance with mathematical methods (probability theory, statistics, numerical analysis) for finance and insurance. The curriculum consists of two semesters of coursework followed by the writing of a Master thesis. The program starts once a year in the fall semester (mid September) and interested persons need to apply for a place of study by the end of January.
Graduates should be able to work as specialists in quantitative-oriented areas of the financial services industry, such as risk or asset management or financial product development. They should also be able to work in a finance function or treasury group of a corporation or in consulting.

News13 March 2017 199 candidates have applied for a place of study in the MSc UZH ETH in Quantitative Finance starting in September 2017. 21 candidates were admitted directly and 56 candidates were invited for the interview.
